Solana and Plume: The First Step in Superstate's Multichain Expansion

As part of our multichain expansion strategy, Superstate has integrated with two new blockchain networks: Solana and Plume Network. These are the first two blockchains, beyond Ethereum, where investors can now subscribe, transfer, and hold shares of our tokenized funds, USTB and USCC. Investors may also continue to hold shares in traditional book-entry form.

Solana and Plume were chosen for distinct and complementary reasons. Each blockchain plays a strategic role in our vision to make institutional-grade investment products accessible, compliant, and composable across the most capable blockchain environments.

Solana brings performance and ecosystem reach at scale:

  • High Throughput & Low Latency: Ideal for real-time settlement and efficient liquidity movement
  • Robust Developer Ecosystem: A growing set of tools and applications focused on real-world asset tokenization
  • Broad Market Adoption: A broad retail and institutional audience increasingly ready to adopt tokenized securities

We believe Solana is positioned to become one of the foundational environments for capital markets on-chain.

Plume Network is purpose-built for real-world asset (RWA) finance:

  • RWA-Native Infrastructure: Built from the ground up to support tokenized financial products
  • Cost and Speed Advantages: Layer 2 design enables lower fees and faster settlement
  • DeFi Compatibility: Enables broader access to composable financial applications

As a network designed specifically for the RWA space, Plume gives Superstate products an efficient distribution channel.

Expanding to Solana and Plume doesn’t change the fundamentals of our products. Our tokenized funds remain the same institutional-grade investment offerings, designed to meet the rigorous standards expected by professional investors, now with broader accessibility.

Through the Superstate Portal, investors can:

  • Add Wallets to the Allowlist: Solana and Plume addresses can now be allowlisted
  • Subscribe and Redeem: Follow the same institutional-grade process on any supported network
  • Track Balances Across Formats: View Ethereum, Solana, Plume, and book-entry holdings in one dashboard

Expanded Functionality: Cross-Chain Bridging Now Available

With SuperstateTokenV5, our latest smart contract upgrade, investors can now bridge USTB and USCC between Ethereum, Solana, or Plume.

Key Capabilities Include:

  • Token Transfers Between Chains: Burn tokens on Ethereum to mint them on Solana or Plume, and vice versa, facilitating smooth asset movement across chains
  • Enhanced Liquidity and Settlement Efficiency: Cross-chain functionality improves liquidity and streamlines settlement processes across supported chains

Currently, bridging is available through direct smart contract interactions. These advancements enable seamless integration with the Solana network and establish a robust foundation for our future multichain expansions, ensuring a consistent experience for our investors across various blockchains.

For a deeper dive into bridging, please refer to our documentation.

In 2024, while many in the industry rapidly expanded across various blockchains, we concentrated on building a robust infrastructure and partner network to support our tokenized investment products. This deliberate approach has prepared us to expand beyond Ethereum, aligning with the maturation of the tokenized finance landscape. Our strategy ensures that each expansion aligns with investor needs and market readiness, providing faster, more cost-effective transactions.

We are actively evaluating additional blockchain networks that meet our standards for compliance, security, capital efficiency and ecosystem maturity.
